Detailed Description:

Black Canyon Fishing Report as of May 15th, 2015: The annual "flush" of the lower Gunnison has already occured with flows being raised to just above 2,000 cfs. The river has since dropped and is now flowing at just below 400 cfs. Look for the stoneflies to be moving around as well as caddis and midge hatches periodically. Streamers can be a good choice this time of year as well.

Suggested Fly Patterns: Natural color streamers, large stonefly nymphs like a rubber legs in sizes 4-8, Hare's ear nymphs in sizes 14-18, san juan worms in sizes 10-14, baetis nymphs in sizes 18-20, Rusty and black midges in sizes 18-22.
