Summer is here! The snow is gone from almost all areas and the variety of streams and rivers to fish is enormous. Our big water, the Gunnison, Taylor, East, Lake Fork, and Black Canyon are all excellent. Backcountry streams number more than can be counted and the bugs are active. The warmest water temperatures of the year produce great dry fly action which lasts well into October making our summer/fall an excellent time to be here.
Crowds are down and fishing is still phenominal. Classic small dries and terrestrials keep the fish busy. The Colorado Aspens are taking on their colors and the fly-fishing experience is unforgettable. Whether it be close to home or a long hike into the wilderness, fall fishing is spectacular!
